Account Supervisor - Technology

Schwartz MSL seeks an Account Supervisor for our Technology practice in the San Francisco office. As part of our dynamic team, the Account Supervisor will focus on high-profile technology brands as well as new business assignments at one of the top PR agencies. This position involves responsibility for writing strategic plans and client programs, fulfilling client needs, supervising account staff and managing day-to-day account activities, including client presentations, budgets, media relations and event management.

The ideal candidate should have significant experience in technology public relations, including possible specialties in security, clean tech, cloud computing or consumer tech with a focus on executing national programs for leading companies. The candidate is a true team player with ability to move projects effectively, on time, and with excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement creative programs that produce superior results for clients.
• Develop and pitch client programs/projects and manage program implementation.
• Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach.
• Monitor projects to ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Set accurate campaign budgets and brings projects in on budget.
• Set and meet campaign measurement and evaluation criteria.
• Identify the training and development needs of direct reports and provide opportunities which enable staff members to reach their full potential.

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years previous experience in technology PR;
• B.A. in Public Relations, Communications or a related discipline;
• Fluency and/or familiarity with digital and social media required;
• Experience working on multi disciplinary (holistic) communication initiatives;
• Strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media;
• Solid relationships and working knowledge of key online/offline media influencers/journalists;
• Strong budgeting and financial management skills;
• Experience with clients and accounts that are measurement and evaluation driven; and
• Strong presentation skills, poise and professionalism.

Account Executive – Technology



MSLGROUP Americas is currently seeking Account Executives for our Technology practice in our Schwartz MSL San Francisco office.

Responsibilities:

• The execution of PR plans and the day-to-day account activities, including building relationships with client contacts, providing counsel, media relations, supervising junior staff, event planning, managing multiple projects, writing press materials, and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
• Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach.
• Leverage established relationships with major broadcast and print media contacts, as well as online and blogger contacts and work with national publicity.
• Provide strategic counsel to communications efforts/media relations for a wide array of clients in concert with other agency managers.
• Ensure delivery of accurate correspondence and creative material to client for review or final delivery.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate college degree;
• 2+ years Public Relations experience in the technology practice of an agency or corporate/in-house;
• A strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media is imperative;
• Experience with technology accounts
• A passion for technology communications;
• Solid media relations skills and excellent writing skills; and
• Great attention to detail, enthusiasm, organization, multi-tasking and desire to be a team player.

Vice President – Healthcare

MSLGROUP Americas is currently seeking a Vice President for our Healthcare practice in our Schwartz MSL San Francisco office. As a senior counselor of major global healthcare and pharmaceutical accounts, the VP is responsible for writing plans and client programs, fulfilling and managing client needs, supervising an account staff and driving/leading day-to-day account activities. The person should be comfortable operating in a position requiring both strategy and execution and will act as the client contact. The ideal candidate will have experience working on a large global healthcare portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Builds rapport and credibility with clients, based on trust and expert counsel.
• Develops creative and innovative marketing programs to help client achieve goals; secures and expands agency relationship; and grows agency billings.
• Leverages traditional, digital and social media as well as emerging technologies to develop strategic marketing solutions for clients.
• Ensures client satisfaction with the agency, our services and our staff and quickly and effectively resolves client problems or concerns.
• Oversees account profitability, reports revenue projections and identifies opportunities to meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Participates and contributes to agency new business efforts.
• Manages, coaches and motivates employees.

Requirements/Skills:

• 8+ years experience in healthcare public relations at an agency or corporate in-house;
• Prior experience on a large, global healthcare account;
• Experience working on multi disciplinary (holistic) communication initiatives;
• Strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media;
• Solid relationships and working knowledge of key online/offline media influencers/journalists, specifically in the beauty space;
• Strong presentation skills, poise and professionalism;

Business Development Director - San Francisco, CA

Schwartz MSL seeks a Business Development Director for both our Waltham and San Francisco offices. As part of our dynamic new business team, the individual will help to support an aggressive effort prospect and develop materials for new business leads. The business development director will have the opportunity to work with the leaders of our agency, on one of the most important aspects of our business - development of best practices and tools associated with business development. This position will report jointly to the President of Schwartz MSL and the Managing Director of the office and work in partnership with our centralized Americas business development and sales team in our NY headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support all phases of proposal development and new business process, coordinate logistics for new business pitches, manage and create content, and serve as project manager for proposal development in response to client requests for information including: RFP/RFI, surveys, new business materials, presentation documents as well as prospecting program and initiatives.
  • Define and coordinate roles and responsibilities among team members and manage timelines, and work with various resources (subject matter experts) to coordinate content development and any necessary client (potential client) communication(s).
  • Developing superior PowerPoint decks, managing our prospect database, coordinating prospect and client mailings and updating and organizing and maintaining marketing materials (including employee bios/photos, agency credentials, etc.).
  • Create templates, charts and creative elements to enhance the storytelling of materials.
  • Manage deliverables for all projects/opportunities, including presentation materials, creative elements, supporting artwork and giveaways, props and leave-behinds.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource and content/asset manager.
  • Collaborating with each of our practice groups on all new business activities to support the execution of comprehensive plans and presentation materials tailored to each individual new business pitch.
  • Use salesforce.com to generate monthly reports capturing local office sales results and manage sales pipeline status.

Requirements:

  • BA or equivalent;
  • 5 + years of work experience; direct business development required, agency experience preferred;
  • Excellent project management, knowledge/asset management and organizational skills
  • Able to juggle a multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with different organizational groups and a sense of urgency;
  • Understanding of marketing communications industry;
  • Highly proficiency Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and salsforce.com; Hubspot experience a plus
  • Proficient at “storytelling” techniques and has a design sense for presenting big ideas and concepts;
  • Excellent writing skills and strong ability to deliver best in class written communications and proofreading/editing;
  • Well organized and excellent at knowledge/asset management;
  • Strong verbal communications and persuasive skills applicable to client prospecting conversations;
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with both internal and external customers, take initiative, follow through and anticipate next steps needed in a situation;
  • Excellent customer/client service skills, and enjoy being challenged by a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Analytical and detailed oriented; and
  • A team player attitude.

The ideal candidate must have strategic thinking skills and business acumen, and be able to manage research projects, develop critical insights and support all efforts for supercharged agency new business team. Candidates should have a sophisticated understanding of business trends and an interest in working in a fun, high-energy environment.
