
Jill Reed Vice President
Jill Reed has more than 11 years of public relations experience and has represented a variety of consumer and enterprise technology clients, and cleantech companies. She has extensive experience in enterprise software, including open source, IT security and data management technologies.
One of the key vice presidents in the Schwartz Security practice, Reed has represented companies that span the IT security ecosystem: unified threat management, web application security, web filtering, malware/anti-virus, network access control, and SOA security and governance. Current and past Schwartz security clients include 8e6 Technologies, Bit9, Breach Security (now part of Trustwave), ESET, Fortinet, Layer 7 Technologies and Mykonos Software.
As part of the Schwartz Cleantech Practice she has worked with some of the industry’s most innovative renewable energy companies including global solar module manufacturer Canadian Solar, CPV startup Cool Earth Solar and green biofuels startup Verdezyne.
Since joining Schwartz in 2006, she has worked with clients to develop strategic public relations programs that align with critical business goals. She has created and managed PR programs to launch startups, reposition companies, introduce products, manage analyst relations, and drive ongoing media awareness and exposure. Under Reed’s leadership, her teams have secured favorable client coverage in national business press outlets, including Associated Press, BusinessWeek, Dow Jones, The Economist, Fortune, Forbes, NBC Nightly News, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, TIME and USA Today.
Prior to joining Schwartz, Reed was a senior manager of public relations at Inktomi Corp. She also represented a variety of global technology companies such as Sun Microsystems (now Oracle), Iomega (now part of EMC), Panasonic and Solectron (now Flextronics) at other tech PR agencies. She started her career representing national consumer brands at Publicis Public Relations. Reed received a M.A. in English from McGill University in Montréal, Québec, and a B.A. in French from San Diego State University with a minor in international politics.
